Chad SwensonRecovery Trust
Chad and Eden Swenson are residents of Houston, Texas. On October 25, 2010 while vacationing in Costa Rica, Chad suffered a major accident while white water rafting. The accident was caused by a falling tree limb that struck Chad directly above the forehead. He was carried out of the jungle by hand and duck taped to an upside down raft. He did not arrive at the trauma center until 15 hours after the accident. He suffered major head trauma involving severe brain swelling, subdural hematomas, broken orbital bones, broken upper sinuses, and suffers from respiratory distress syndrome.
Chad and Eden have recently returned home to Houston. Chad continues his treatment at Memorial Hermann in Neuro ICU. Chad is stable and remains in a coma. Chad has overcome many obstacles, but there is still a long road to recovery. There is evidence of brain damage, some permanent, and his wife and family are hoping and praying for a positive recovery. Chad will be transferred to a long term acute care facility when he leaves Memorial Hermann. He must remain there since he still requires around-the-clock care. However, once Chad is stable enough and regains consciousness, he will be transferred to a rehabilitaion hospital. This facility has a floor dedicated to patients with brain injuries and trauma.
Chad's future is still unknown. Further contributions and support will be greatly appreciated and will be critical for his continued treatment, future medical expenses and living expenses. Please keep praying for healing and recovery so that Chad can continue his journey toward a healthy and productive future.
Thank You Any donation will be greatly appreciated to aid in the costs of Chad's treatments and loss of income.
Please keep praying for a speedy and full recovery.
